Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas is our favorite Halloween movie and one of our favorite Christmas movies. Wait, does that make sense? Well, if you've seen the movie it should!  How to Make a Disney Pinocchio School Lunch Idea!

Ever since I was a kid I have always been interested in the story of Pinocchio. I remember reading books about it and of course watching the animated movie as a child. From Jiminy Cricket to being swallowed by a whale (or monstrous fish), all of the characters were fascinating. Yes, I even like the ride in Fantasyland at Disneyland and Disney World. Don't get me wrong, it's not my favorite Disney movie, but I think it is underrated.

How to Make a Fall Football School Lunch

Football season is here. School is here. For our family, it was time to combine the two into this lunch! My son is very excited to play football for his school and is also very into the NFL. We won't talk about the fact that he cheers for the wrong team. We are a Seattle Seahawks house, I don't know what happened with him and his love for the 49ers.

How to Make a Crocs Food Art School Lunch Idea for Your Kids!

How about some Crocs-sants for lunch? Any time I can mix food art with a dad joke, I'm up for the challenge. In this case, my kids love Crocs so I thought why not make some Crocssants? I saw a meme for it recently and I thought I would incorporate it into a lunch for the school year!

How to Make a Crocs Food Art School Lunch Idea for Your Kids!

What is your family's view on Crocs? It took awhile for my wife to warm up to them, and I'm still not sure she has, but I think they're comfortable and my boys wear theirs everywhere. My daughter also tries to steal my son's because she doesn't have her own pair. What's up with kids wearing socks with Crocs though? I don't get that trend. The Crocs Jibbitz are kind of cool though. Those are the "charms" that you can pin to the top. So here is how I created this lunch and how you can too.

Harry Potter Hogwarts Invitation Letter Food Art Lunch Recipe Ideas!

One of our family's favorite series has to be Harry Potter! We have been working our way through the books and movies with our youngest. Our two older kids have already read them all and seen every movie. We also visited Universal Studios in Hollywood for the first time this year and of course, spent much of our time in Harry Potter World. We had Butterbeer, went on the rides, and they picked out their own wands at Olivanders. I thought it was definitely time for their own Hogwarts letters! It had to be in food form of course.

This lunch includes a Hedwig Owl sandwich with a Hogwarts letter. There is also Harry Potter's wand, Dumbledore's Elder wand, and Hermione Granger's wand. I also included a chocolate frog, minus the wizard card, unfortunately. Keep reading to find out how to make it for your Wizarding World kids!

Disney Pixar Turning Red Food Art Lunch Recipe

If you have been paying attention to movie releases lately, then you've definitely heard of the new Disney Pixar film Turning Red. It's streaming on Disney+ and as fans of Pixar, we had to watch it. It follows Meilin "Mei" Lee, a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian student who, due to a hereditary curse, transforms into a giant red panda when she feels a strong emotion. It also chronicles her journey into puberty and her relationship with her family, specifically her mom.

We have heard about the controversy surrounding it so we all watched it together as a family. It is rated PG but we wanted to be able to talk about any scenes that we felt were a little mature for our younger boys. However, in the end, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. I thought the movie illustrated what most teenagers go through as they are learning about their emotions changing and how to deal with them. Of course, my teenage daughter loved the part about the boy band 4*Town. She now wants to be a 4*Townie.

St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Easy Lunch Recipe Idea

It's not easy being green, except on St. Patrick's Day! My family loves celebrating St. Patrick's Day by dressing in green and of course eating green food. Every year we find green cheese at stores like ALDI. One of my favorite things to do is to make corned beef and cabbage. I found a good sale on it this week so I even bought two packages. If you are looking for an easy food art lunch to celebrate, you've come to the right place!

To make corned beef you don't need to do anything fancy. Many times it even comes with all of the spices that you need. You can make it in the oven or in a pressure cooker. We find it easiest to make in our Instant Pot and used this recipe. For the rest of this lunch, you just need a knife, cutting board, and the other ingredients!

How to Make a Dr. Seuss The Cat in the Hat School Lunch

I'm not sure that there's a more iconic children's literary character than Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat. He's definitely on the Mt. Rushmore of children's book legends. It has been awhile since I made a Dr. Seuss school lunch recipe for my kids, but since it's his birthday this week, along with Read Across America Day, it was definitely time. These fun book recipes always bring a smile to my kids' faces so I'm not ashamed to admit that I took a bit longer to make these lunches this week.

My three kids have developed different tastebuds when it comes to certain foods so the background of the pinwheel sandwiches in each of my kids' lunches are all different. Feel free to fill the sandwich with whatever ingredients your child prefers. The three varieties I made were nut-free spread and strawberry jam, grilled cheese and turkey (pictured above), and pesto, turkey, cheese, and fresh spinach. Follow the directions below to see how to make the rest of this Dr. Seuss lunch for your children!

The Book of Boba Fett Food Art School Lunch Recipe
Have you been enjoying The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+ like we have? This show has received mixed reviews but I'm here for any show or movie that features the legendary bounty hunter. He was my favorite Star Wars villain growing up, I even dressed like him for Halloween one year. The guest appearances by other epic Star Wars characters like The Mandalorian, Grogu (Baby Yoda), Jawas, and Tusken Raiders are just bonuses.

Because of the fun that we've been having experiencing the series as a family, I had to make my kids a Boba Fett food art school lunch to celebrate. This lunch features a Boba sandwich, Baby Yoda side of fruit, and Jawas dessert. Keep reading to find out how to make it for your kids!

How to Make a Valentine's Day School Lunch From ALDI

Valentine's Day recipes are so fun to make and they can be very easy as well. Pretty much all you need to do is make food into heart shapes. I was shopping at ALDI recently and saw a ton of Valentine's Day themed food, so I picked some up to make this easy lunch. Sometime's simpler recipes are better, especially when you are a busy parent on the go.

How to Make a Valentine's Day School Lunch From ALDI

I started with buying some heart-shaped pasta. It ended up looking orange after I cooked it but the heart shapes held up very well when cooked correctly. I didn't use sauce because my kids prefer it without, however you can add some if you like. I just sprinkled cheese on top for a little extra flavor.

Disney Encanto Movie School Lunch Recipe

If you've been on Disney+ lately, there's no way to miss the delightful movie Encanto. My kids were begging to watch it so we finally found the time. The art and storyline were all "magical!" Of course, the soundtrack is great because it was written by Lin Manuel Miranda. My daughter is a huge fan and her favorite song is, "We don't talk about Bruno." I won't give away any more because you will have to watch it for yourself. I decided it was time for me to make a food art lunch to celebrate this fun family Disney movie!

I started with a base of tortillas that I made into a sandwich with cheese and meat. However, as it turns out you can't even see them. They were shaped like the walkway into the house. Mirabel's head covered most of it which turned out to be fine. Just know there is a sandwich underneath for some extra food. You should also know that I have quite a bit of trouble making lips. I always have. My daughter didn't mind. To find out how I made the rest, keep reading.
