How to Make a Valentine's Day Lunch Recipe With Items From Target

Valentine's Day lunch recipes can be super fun to make for kids for school or adults for work! When you can find all of the ingredients at one store, it makes it even easier. So I visited Target to find everything I needed for this heart-shaped waffle lunch for my kids to take to school with them. People always think of waffles as a breakfast food but they work just as well as leftovers in a lunch! Here is how to make this school lunch that will show your kids that you love them.

Ingredients:
Waffles, red and green apples, nut-free spread, strawberry jam, chocolate rose.

Directions:

1. Make your heart-shaped waffles in the mini heart waffle maker. You can use your favorite waffle mix, it doesn't matter which. Let them cool and spread jam on one, top it with another waffle, put nut-free spread on that one, and top it with a third waffle. Place in the main compartment of the lunchbox.

2. Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out the middle of a green apple. Do the same to a red apple. Insert the red apple heart into the space in the middle of the green apple. Place in side compartment. Cut up the apple scraps and surround the waffles with them. Dip the apple pieces in lemon juice if you want to prevent browning.

3. Cut the stem and leaves off of the chocolate rose. Place the leaves in the side compartment and then put the rose on top.
