Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we are all preparing for the big dinner so I'll keep this one short and simple. I'm getting the actual deep-fried turkey planning ready for our family so I needed to make my kids a fun food art lunch that only took a few minutes to make. So I relied on a few old tricks and added a couple new ideas!
For the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, I used a design that is pretty common with a few circles of bread and sliced lunch meat in the middle. The tail feathers, eyes, and beak are all cheese. The eyes are black olives. I held them on with toothpicks. I put red Christmas chips in the background. Don't tell anyone that I opened the bag early!
In the first side compartment, I put a Little Debbie's fall cupcake. We already had them, so I thought it was easy to throw in there for a fun dessert. I put pumpkin sprinkles on the top and pecans on the side.
For the second side compartment, I used a leaf shape cutter on the orange peel with some black marker to complete the leaf. I surrounded the orange with red sweet pepper slices.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Pin this Thanksgiving turkey lunch idea to Pinterest!
