Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas is our favorite Halloween movie and one of our favorite Christmas movies. Wait, does that make sense? Well, if you've seen the movie it should! And if you've seen the movie you know that Jack Skellington is, of course, The Pumpkin King. So this lunch is all about that theme.
We found pumpkin-shaped pasta at the store so I cooked it up before I put it in this lunch. It really is quite an amazing shape! It looks like those fairytale pumpkins that you see for sale at a pumpkin patch. On top of the pasta I placed salami but really any sliced meat would do. Then I cut mozzarella cheese in the shape of Jack Skellington and his dog Zero. Zero's nose and collar are red sweet pepper.
For the first side dish, I made my own pumpkin-themed trail mix. In the mix, you will find pecans, Halloween-themed pumpkin-shaped pretzels, pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin-shaped candy corn.
In the second side dish, I dropped in raisins and a pumpkin-shaped Little Debbie's cake dessert.
Since my daughter is such a huge fan of this movie, she loved this lunch. Plus all of the premade Halloween and pumpkin things made it a snap to put together!
