Valentine's Day recipes are so fun to make and they can be very easy as well. Pretty much all you need to do is make food into heart shapes. I was shopping at ALDI recently and saw a ton of Valentine's Day themed food, so I picked some up to make this easy lunch. Sometime's simpler recipes are better, especially when you are a busy parent on the go.
I started with buying some heart-shaped pasta. It ended up looking orange after I cooked it but the heart shapes held up very well when cooked correctly. I didn't use sauce because my kids prefer it without, however you can add some if you like. I just sprinkled cheese on top for a little extra flavor.
The ham slices were easy to cut with a heart-shaped metal cutter, but you could use a knife if you would like. The strawberries are always a great edition because of the red color and the ease of cutting them into a heart shape. Heart-shaped desserts make a nice bonus this time of year as well.
Don't forget to turn valentines into lunch notes for your kids. I used Valentine's Day fruit snacks to do this. They are ready-made to save you time! To see exactly how I made everything for this themed lunch, watch the video above.
