School lunch ideas

If you've been around my blog for awhile, you are well aware of my family's fondness for the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. Well, despite the fact that this Disney movie is known as a Halloween and Christmas film, I have somehow never made a Jack Skellington lunch for Christmas. It has only been for Halloween. I know, I know, I'm having a hard time forgiving myself for this one. Hopefully this lunch will get me back on the nice list with my kids and the big guy in the red suit!

Ingredients: Whole wheat bread slices, sliced meat, provolone cheese, nori (roasted seaweed), popcorn, shredded coconut, honey, fruit roll, dried cherries, star shaped snacks, snap peas, Babybel cheese, black and white fondant.

1. Cut circles out of the bread, cheese, and meat. Assemble into a sandwich with cheese on top, surround with popcorn, and place in main compartment of lunchbox.

2. Cut Jack's facial features out of nori. Place on top of cheese to make Jack's face as shown.

3. Use scissors to make a Santa hat out of a red fruit roll and place on top of the popcorn. Make sure to leave the plastic on so it stays in tact on the popcorn.

4. Drizzle honey on the brim and the end of the hat. Press coconut into the honey to create the fuzzy parts of the hat.

5. Drop dried cherries into side compartment. Arrange star shaped snacks on top of cherries.

6. Place snap peas on other side compartment. Create a Nightmare Before Christmas style ribbon out of fondant and place on top of Babybel cheese to make a present straight out of Halloween Town!
