How to Make Mini Holiday Granola Bar Cabins

The holidays are the perfect time of year to put together those unique treats that you only make once a year. While I love being creative and making gingerbread houses, I wanted to try something different this year. This year I saw these Quaker Chewy Holiday Mini Bars and and decided to flex my creative muscles. Why not just make mini holiday granola bar cabins instead? Could it be done? I've never seen them before, but would it work?

The answer turned out to be a resounding yes! So add this granola bar cabin to the list alongside gingerbread houses and charcuterie chalets! Only these snackable cabins will take much less time and your kids can easily make them as well using only Quaker Chewy Holiday Minis, icing, and sprinkles. 

My family has been loving Quaker Chewy Holiday Minis because you can eat them for a quick snack, which you definitely will wnat to while making these cozy cabins. Quaker Chewy Bars Holiday Minis are made with 100% whole grains and other delicious ingredients. They also come in festive snowman wrappers and of course include the amazing chewy granola chocolate chip goodness! You can find them at your local store like Sam's Club. Here is how to make your own granola bar cabins for the holidays!

Ingredients: 4 Quaker Chewy Holiday Mini Bars, frosting or icing, holiday themed sprinkles.

Directions:

1. Have an adult cut four mini bars into the shapes shown below. You will need one bar for the square middle walls and two bars for the outside walls cut into peaks. The roof is made with one bar that was cut down the middle on the narrow side to create a thin top to the house. Pro tip: If your roof needs reinforcement, cut a scrap piece into a triangle, with a bit of icing on top, and slide it under the middle of the roof. 

2. Spread icing between each piece of the house. Use a piping bag, it will make it easier and look cleaner when you pipe icing on the corners and seams. Let dry for a few minutes between each set of pieces. Start with the walls and finish with the roof.

3. Now it's time to get creative with the roof. Make sure to at least pipe icing along the edges and peak of the roof. It will not only look better, but it will make everything more stable. You can also cover the entire roof with frosting for a snowy look. It is up to you!

4. Finish by decorating with holiday sprinkles. Let your kids choose whichever ones they like and put them wherever they want. Just be sure to press them into the icing before it dries. A nice touch is also to create a door out of icing as well. 

After you finish, set aside to let dry or eat immediately. There is no wrong choice here! Just make sure to pick up plenty of Quaker Chewy Holiday Mini Bars the next time you are grocery shopping. They will definitely come in handy for every holiday emergency from building these houses to snacking.
