It's just about time to go back to school which of course means it's also time to start making school lunches again. But don't fear, I always have your back and I want to help you start the school year off on a fun and healthy note. Today, with the help of ALDI, I'm going to show you how to make a teddy bear back-to-school lunch for your kids.

Every kid loves a teddy bear sandwich and this one comes with lots of love because of the sides of heart shaped strawberries, baby carrots, and hummus. If you want your children to eat more veggies, I always recommend including a dip. There are many flavors of hummus at ALDI so the trick is to find your kid's favorite before they take it to school for lunch. Then you won't have to worry about them coming back with it after the school day is done.

Ingredients: Simply Nature Organic Wheat Bread, Lunch Mate Honey Smoked Turkey slices, white sliced cheese, black olives, pepperoni, strawberries, baby carrots, hummus.

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Directions:
1. Use round cookie cutters to cut out the ears and muzzle of the teddy bear. You will need two small circles of cheese, two smaller circles of pepperoni, one medium circle of cheese, one medium circle of bread, and one large circle of cheese.

2. Cut two olives in half and use one half for the eyes. The other halves can make the triangle nose and half circle mouth shapes. Arrange as shown on a slice of bread.

3. On a second slice of bread place turkey and your kid's favorite condiment. Top with the bread slice that has the teddy bear on top to complete the sandwich. Place in main compartment of the ALDI expandable lunchbox.

4. Slice the stem off of a strawberry and then cut the berry in half. Cut a small triangle out of the top of each slice to make the heart. Repeat for desired number of strawberry hearts. Place in side compartment.

5. Fill other side containers with baby carrots and hummus. Stack lunchbox levels together and place in your child's favorite thermal lunch container from ALDI. Use the frozen ice pack from the lunchbox to keep the lunch cold.

See, it's not so hard to help your kids feel special on their first week of school! By only spending a couple of extra minutes on their lunch the night before, you can be a lunchbox hero. Just make sure you are stocked up on all of your back-to-school supplies ahead of time and lunchtime will be one of your children's favorite times of day!
