How to Make An Under the Sea Yogurt Snack

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Let's Play. I was compensated, but all opinions are my own.

It's August and the days are long and hot. Your kids may or may not have gone back to school, but the fact remains that by this point in the summer every parent needs snack ideas. In our family we often find an hour to fill where we have to come up with a snack, craft, or game because we don't want our kids to tear apart the house. Every parent knows what I'm talking about. Sometimes it's good just to get everyone outside.

For this reason we came up with this interactive Under the Sea Yogurt Snack. Your kids can help make the yogurt cup and then decorate it while they eat. Another great thing is that you can serve this chilled or even frozen!
I shared awhile back that I am partnering with Let's Play this year to help promote families getting active. To encourage your family to stay active and cool this summer, we also wanted to pass on three fun water games. So after you check out the recipe for this snack, head on over to to see the complete instructions for how to play these new games! Watch the video preview below to get a taste of how fun these water games can be for your entire family!

Let's Play and its nonprofit partner Good Sports is also hosting a Facebook contest and giving away a Good Sports Water Play Package that is worth over $100! Make sure to visit
the Let's Play Facebook page to enter through August 21.

Remember you can easily keep track of how much exercise and playtime your family gets with the #LetsPlayPledge. It's a great tool to help you be accountable and motivate your family to get off the couch and get outside to play!

Plain Greek nonfat yogurt
Blue food coloring
Dried Mango
Gummy fish and/or circle shaped gummies
Graham Cracker flavored goldfish shaped crackers
Clear plastic cups
Stickers with an ocean theme
(optional) Diced fruit
(optional) Marshmallow shaped goldfish

1. In small bowl mix the amount of yogurt you need with a few drops of blue food coloring. You will need about 3/4 cup of yogurt per person. You can add more or less food coloring depending on how blue you want the yogurt to be. Swirl in a very small amount of honey to add some sweetness. You can also mix in diced fruit as an option.

2. In a plastic cup, pour a small amount of granola into the bottom to make “sand”. Spoon blue yogurt mixture on top until desired amount of yogurt is in the cup.

3. Use a sharp knife to cut the shape of a sun from dried mango. It doesn't have to be perfect or extremely detailed. Poke a toothpick slightly into the sun and then put the other end of the toothpick into the yogurt. This should help the sun stand up.

4. Place gummy fish and graham cracker shaped fish on top of your blue yogurt ocean. I stuck the graham cracker fish through an "O" shaped gummy and floated it on top.

5. Give the yogurt cups to your kids along with ocean themed stickers. Let them decorate their cups before (or while) they eat their snack!
Now that you've finished the snack, remember to go to for step-by-step instructions on how to play the water games seen above. These take only a few supplies, very little prep, and are tons of fun on a hot day. So get on outside with your kids and have some fun!

  1. Practically generally great CSGO gambling club locales will offer a type of match wagering too. CSGO match wagering highlights esports matches on the expert csgo empire and semi-proficient level. The reach and profundity of games covered are completely reliant upon the stage. There are some that cover every single CSGO match across the world, while a few just component the significant occasions.
