This is a sponsored post in partnership with LGS Minneolas. All opinions are my own.

This school year is in full swing and our family is always looking for easy and fun school lunch ideas. What parents aren't looking for easy family-friendly food recipes, right? We have been devouring Darling Minneolas lately so I thought I would make them the tasty centerpiece of this owl food art school lunch.

Darling Minneolas are a juicy hybrid that combines the taste of a grapefruit and the sweetness of a tangerine! How incredible is that? They can be used in any number of ways such as in a school lunch, added to baked goods as a natural sweetner, zested and added to pancakes, or blended for a morning smoothie. You can find them at your local grocery store in the produce section. To make this owl lunch, follow the directions below!

Ingredients: Darling Minneolas, whole wheat bread, white cheese, black olives, snap peas, pretzel rods, your child's favorite vegetable dip, and trail mix.

Directions:

1. Cut a Minneola in half and place in the main compartment of the lunchbox. Peel the other half of the Minneola and save the peel.

2. Peel another Minneola and pull the sections apart. Place two pieces on either side of the half Minneola that is in the lunchbox. Those will be the owl's wings.

3. Cut the leftover peels in the shape of three strips of feathers, three triangles for a beak and feathers above the eyes, two feet, and a moon.

4. Place pretzel rods at the bottom of the main compartment and snap peas in the top. Cut bread and cheese in circle shapes to make mini sandwiches for the eyes. Put a black olive on the top.

5. Arrange mini sandwiches and peels where shown in the photo to create the owl. Optionally you can use toothpicks to help hold the peel pieces in place if needed.

6. Spoon your child's favorite veggie dip into one side compartment. We used a spinach artichoke dip but hummus would work as well. Place a pretzel rod in the middle. Cut a few snap peas and arrange them like the branches of a tree around the pretzel rod.

7. In the second side compartment, drop in trail mix and top with the moon-shaped peel. Your lunch is ready for school!
