How to Bake like a Cake Boss, Get a Free Extended Warranty, and Dance Like a Rockette

I am part of the Swiffer Fanatic ambassador program. This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.

If you have ever wondered how to pack a week's worth of experiences into two days, I was recently shown how. Last month I was fortunate enough to travel to New York with a group of bloggers, and Swiffer, and was blown away by what we learned. In a few short paragraphs, let me attempt to take you through what I learned there.

We started off our trip with some time in the classroom. I know, what a party right? Wait just a minute. What we learned was pretty crazy. Swiffer showed us the science behind how their Swiffer products work. It was also cool to see that Swiffer had redesigned their Wet Jet cleaner so that it no longer leaves streaks. The greatest news was when I found out that Swiffer makes a Swiffer Sweeper Vacuum! What?! How come no one told me this? It is now my family's favorite new cleaning tool!
Next, we had the opportunity to have some fun out in New York City, and also put some of the Swiffer products to the test. First, we headed out to the Good Housekeeping Institute to learn about how they test all of the products they feature. It was so interesting to learn about their process and how, when they endorse a product, it only happens after hours and hours of testing. One of the biggest takeaways was this. If they give any product their Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, that product has an extended warranty for two years. So if the product is defective, even if the manufacturer's warranty has expired, Good Housekeeping will take care of you!

To finish off the first day, we visited the Paul Taylor Dance Company where we learned to dance like a Rockette! Let me make one thing clear. I am not a dancer. My feeble attempts at rhythmic movement is offensive to the art of dance in every way. With that being said, our instructors were patient and supportive. They were both former Rockettes, which in itself was pretty cool. We were able to hear how that famous dance group trains, and all the hard work that goes into it. I have to admit, it ended up being pretty fun. I think my career as a dancer is officially dead, but I have a new appreciation for what the Rockettes do every night.

Day two began with my favorite part of the trip. We headed to New Jersey and visited the famous Carlo's Bakery, home of the T.V. Show Cake Boss! We were given a tour and then presented with a competition.  We were shown how to decorate a cake and then told we would be broken up intot teams and compete against each other to see who could create the most creative cakes. Since part of the judging had to do with cleaning up our mess, we decided to incorporate that into our decorating theme. We didn't win, but I was proud of my team. Check out our finished cakes below!

Our last stop was at Foster Dogs NYC. There were so many cute dogs up for adoption. However, if you have ever owned a dog, you know they can create quite the mess. My family has had the same dog for about twelve years, and our Swiffer Wet Jet has helped to clean up more messes than we can remember!
It was a fast, but fun two days in NYC. If you want to know how to cram a ton of entertainment and education into a trip, this is how it is done. Make sure and visit the websites of the places we stopped at and don't forget to check out all of the Swiffer products that can make your life as a parent easier!
