How to Make a Crocs Food Art School Lunch Idea for Your Kids!

How about some Crocs-sants for lunch? Any time I can mix food art with a dad joke, I'm up for the challenge. In this case, my kids love Crocs so I thought why not make some Crocssants? I saw a meme for it recently and I thought I would incorporate it into a lunch for the school year!

What is your family's view on Crocs? It took awhile for my wife to warm up to them, and I'm still not sure she has, but I think they're comfortable and my boys wear theirs everywhere. My daughter also tries to steal my son's because she doesn't have her own pair. What's up with kids wearing socks with Crocs though? I don't get that trend. The Crocs Jibbitz are kind of cool though. Those are the "charms" that you can pin to the top. So here is how I created this lunch and how you can too.

Ingredients: Croissants (straight ones not curved ones), sliced turkey, salami, sliced cheese, toothpicks, fruit snacks, nuts, dried fruit, sliced strawberries.

Directions:

1. Cut one side of a croissant lengthwise about 1/3 of the way. Then cut the top of that 1/3 off to make the heel of the Croc. Pull out the middle of the other part to hollow out the toe part of the Croc. Cut out small circles from the top part of the toe area. I used a frosting tip to make it easy.

2. Stuff the toe part with turkey and cheese. Use long, narrow croissant scraps to make the back straps of the crocs. Pin them on with toothpicks. You can use a small circle of cheese to cover the toothpick if you want to make it look like a Croc.

3. Use a toothpick to pin on the "Jibbitz." I used fruit snacks and gummy bears. Repeat with a second croissant and put both in main compartment of lunchbox.

4. Fill one side compartment with dried fruit, nuts and the rest of the fruit snacks to make your own trail mix with a Crocs Jibbitz theme.

5. In second side compartment, drop in sliced fruit such as strawberries. Then cut out the word "Crocs" from cheese and put them on top of other cheese and salami. Then just serve and you're done!
